An interesting development occurred between this meeting and the last. At our last meeting, everyone wondered what was the use of twitter. Among the approximately 15 folks that came, none of the bloggers used twitter. But the young law students in attendance explained to us the great fun of tweeting. Most of the law bloggers were skeptical, to say the least.  

At this meeting most of the attorneys were using twitter. The landscape changes quickly. Great to see everyone and I look forward to seeing you at the next meet-up (or tweet-up). 

SnapShots gave a great look and feel to my blog. For those of you that don’t know, Snapshots allowed the reader to roll-over the link with their mouse and see a little “snapshot” of the site in the hyperlink. When they introduced an advertising model, I opted out. Not a big deal. Most things that are free, won’t stay that way. There are two things companies will do once things get rolling: charge for the product they have been giving away or introduce advertising. I believe this blog serves to reach mostly lawyers. That isn’t to say I object to advertising. Just that  I doubt we need the not-to-subtle-ham-fisted suggestions from SnapShots. So, no hard feelings SnapShots.

I want to direct you to Esquire Mac Blog. The blog looks great with a wealth of useful insights.  In addition, Adam Greivell is a great writer (and veteran Mac-user) and has the inside track on a number of software apps. 

It was a great and, once again, diverse group of legal bloggers. In attendance was  Trial Ad (and Other) Notes, Copyright or Wrong, China Law Blog, Law According to Michael Rice, Employment Law Blog, Washington Employment Advisory, Speeding Ticket Blog, Seattle Trademark Lawyer, and the Avvo Blog. Topics included: the word blawg, ways we track, use and justify our blogs, the potential (or lack of potential) in twitter, the value of social networking tools, dealing with unsavory comments in the comments and more. It is a good cross-section of the blogging community and nice to share about the blogging experience. I look forward to meeting with them all again at the next gathering.

I wanted to update both my blogs about a month ago and was searching high and low for some help. Low and behold, I discovered Blog Solace. This was a lucky find. If you are thinking of starting up a blog, wishing you could switch from blogger to WordPress, or just need some help under the hood, drop them a line.

First, a special thanks for the mention at Trial Technologist’s View. I will be contacting Blake soon, as we have a trial coming up in May.  Ben Stevens is back from his adventures at the ABA tech conference. Ben received mention in Lawyers USA, where he plugged Rocket Matters. Speaking of online services, Mac Litigator wrote a very insightful review on the new Web-based application Trial Manager. The article goes beyond examining the product itself and takes a hard look at whether attorneys should be engaged in using these kinds of applications at all. We are all anxiously waiting the next screen cast on Daylite, from Mac Lawyer’s Notebook. To hold us over, Mac Lawyer’s Notebook reports this morning that Daylite 3.7.2 has been released. For all you scripting folks, Scripting for Lawyers is showing no signs of slowing down. What is great about this blog was the assumption that we did not know much to start (true for me). Then, as time progresses, Larry keeps piling on the learning. Mac Law Students does a great review of all the different browsers available.  

The Small Business and Solo Law Practice Blog wrote this review on MacSpeech.  While you are at the site you can listen blawggers Medina, Griffiths, Price and Stevens in their first Podcast. Nice job guys.
